3. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on a device or used to access information already stored on a device. Technically similar tools may also be used, such as local storage, session storage, pixels, tags or similar identifiers. This policy uses the term “cookies” as a collective term for such technologies where they are used in a comparable way to recognize users, store preferences, analyse interactions or manage website functions.

4. Legal basis

4.1 Strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies

Where a technology is strictly necessary to technically provide the website, maintain security or enable a function expressly requested by the user, it is used on the basis of the applicable electronic communications rules and, where personal data are processed, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR or, where applicable, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

4.2 Non-essential cookies, analytics, marketing and external media services

Where cookies or similar technologies are not strictly necessary, in particular for audience measurement, analytics, marketing, retargeting, conversion tracking or external content with tracking components, such technologies will only be used after prior consent has been obtained. In such cases the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR together with the applicable Romanian and European electronic communications and data protection rules.

5. Current setup of this website

Based on the current project configuration, this website is designed for a conservative, data-minimising setup. At present the known configuration primarily includes contact options via website form, e-mail, Outlook communication, optional contact via WhatsApp Business and links to Facebook and Instagram.

As of this version, no separately confirmed analytics, marketing or retargeting tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag or comparable tracking services are assumed to be active. If this changes, this policy must be updated before the relevant technologies are activated and, where required, an effective consent and withdrawal mechanism must be implemented in advance.

6. Categories of cookies and technologies

6.1 Strictly necessary technologies

These technologies are required for the secure and functional operation of the website or for functions expressly requested by the user. They may include in particular:

  • session cookies used to manage a user session;
  • security tools used to prevent abuse or attacks;
  • technical settings for load balancing, error diagnosis or form transmission;
  • storage of cookie preferences where a consent tool is used.

These technologies are not used to track users for advertising or profiling purposes without a separate valid legal basis.

6.2 Functional technologies

Functional technologies may be used to provide convenience features such as language preferences or comparable user-requested settings. Where they are not strictly necessary, they will only be used on the basis of an appropriate legal basis.

6.3 Analytics and statistics technologies

Analytics and statistics technologies are used for audience measurement, usage analysis and website optimisation. These may include analytics scripts, consent-management logging or aggregated measurement services. Such technologies will not be activated without the required consent unless, in the specific case, they are demonstrably strictly necessary.

6.4 Marketing and retargeting technologies

Marketing technologies may be used to measure user interactions, build audiences, assess campaign performance or deliver personalised content. This includes pixels, tags, remarketing cookies and similar identifiers. Such technologies are not used on this website without prior consent.

6.5 External media and embedded services

Embedded content such as maps, videos, appointment booking systems, chat tools or social plugins may also technically place or access cookies or similar technologies. Where such services are not strictly necessary, they must only be loaded after appropriate consent or after active user selection.

7. Contact channels and social media

A simple link to an external service such as WhatsApp, Facebook or Instagram is not the same as embedding a tracker or active social plugin. Where external pages or apps are only opened after the user clicks a link, subsequent processing generally takes place under the responsibility of the relevant third-party provider. If active plugins, pixels, social feeds or embedded widgets are introduced in the future, this policy must be expanded accordingly.

8. Retention period

The retention period depends on the relevant technology:

  • session cookies are usually deleted at the end of the browser session;
  • persistent cookies remain stored for a defined period unless manually deleted earlier;
  • where a consent-management system is used, evidence and preference data may be stored for an appropriate period in order to technically document consents, refusals or withdrawals.

Specific storage periods depend on the technologies actually implemented. If additional services are activated in the future, their retention periods must be added to this policy.

9. Management, withdrawal and deactivation

You can delete, block or restrict cookies through your browser settings. Please note that doing so may impair certain website functions.

Where a consent-management tool is implemented on the website, you can change or withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

10. Recipients and third-country transfers

Where strictly necessary or future services are provided by external service providers, they may act either as processors or as independent controllers. It cannot be excluded that certain providers may also process data outside the European Economic Area or transfer data there.

If services involving a transfer to a third country are used in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly and the relevant transfer mechanism will be identified, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

11. Changes to this policy

This Cookie Policy will be updated if the technologies used, the legal framework or the structure of the website changes. The version published on the website from time to time shall apply.
